Hi all,
I have created a Reporting Services Report and now I am trying to
schedule it to be emailed every week. I made sure the RSReportServer.config
file has correct values in SMTPServer(this is set to IP Address of SMTP
server) and From(This is set to the e-mail address we created to use
specifically for Reporting Services) tags. The problem is it can email
reports to e-mail addresses that use our company's domain but it can email
reports to email addresses that are not part of our company's domain.
Any idea what I may be missing? What should I do to fix this?
Thanks in advance.correction...
it can email reports to the email addresses within our company's domain but
not to the email addresses that are not part of our domain.

computer.

>|||Most mail servers are set up so as not to allow the mail server to RELAY
mail. Relaying mail is the method spammers use by which they use YOUR mail
server to forward inapproriate conetnt THROUGH your mail server. Most mail
server administrators have blocked relaying for obvious reason. On
Microsoft Exchange there are settings to allow only certain computers the
permissions necessary to send this mail to the outside. I can't give you
specific direction on it but I would bet that this might be part of your
problem with not being able to send to the outside world. Sorry I couldn't
be of more help.
