Reporting Services Error after Install

Hi,
I seem to be seeing the below error after having setup reporting
services and visiting report manager. I'm not sure why it gives this
particular message. In IIS, the virtual folder is pointing towards the
C:\program files\microsoft sql server\... folder as is the default.
For some reason it is trying to look for this file in the below path
and I really have no idea why. The only thing I can think of is the
fact that this is the default inetpub path. I didn't do anything
fancy or special with the install so I'm not sure why this is
happening. Is there some config entry somewhere where this can be
changed?

Could not find file "d:\inetpub\wwwroot\ReportService2005.asmx".To add a little bit more information to this, all pages under
/reports/pages is producing this error. All pages in /ReportServer
render just fine.

Reporting Services Error

There are no words to express my frustration with setting up RS... Do you find the error below helpful ? Btw, no events, the RS config looks OK... What's your problem RS ?

you'll get more info on the error in the error log:

c:\program files\Microsoft SQL Server\ MSSQL\Reporting Services\LogFiles

use notepad and do a search for you error, then post the section of the error log peratining to your error.

I am having a similar problem. I can ger RS installed and working, but when I change the ASP.NET authentication level on the virtual directory I get the error you report. Changing it back to what it was when RS was working results in the same error. It seems changing the authentication level breaks RS. A reinstall fixes it.

I've been working on this now for about 3 days and share your frustration.

It seems to me that something bad is with your datasource. Either with the
reportserver database itself or the datasources of your reports are badly
configured. Can you specify more details?
