Reporting services SQL 2005 in windows 2003

installed sql2005 on win2003 machine. configured reporting services.

I see 2 virtual directories. But I get error msg when I go to http://localhost/reports

Error msg is "The report server is not responding. Verify that the report server is running and can be accessed from this computer." .

Please let me know how this can be fixed..

I have Windows 2003 EE (CZ) and SQL 2005.

After restarting Win Server Reporting service fials to automaticaly starts-up.

Open Services and check if SQL Reporting Service is running.

Reporting Services On Web Server not on SQL Server

I have my web server and sql server seperated. Is it possible to have the virtual directories that get created point to the web server and not on the sql server? Also, if I have domain abc.com, def.com, ghi.com can they all go to the reporting services with their domains?

Yes you can run reporting services on the webserver separated from the database server. Think of the Reporting Services as an ASP.NET application.

Reporting Services Not Asking For Authentication

I have made sure that anonymous logins are disabled on the reports and
reportserver virtual directories. When I setup reporting services, I
made sure that the use SSL connections checkbox was checked. I don't
understand why its not asking for authentication.
I also made sure that I didn't have the site's certificate installed.

Is your report server URL one of your Trusted Sites? Or, is it in the
Intranet content zone? If so, your network credentials are automatically
being passed to the report server thus skipping over the login window. I hope
this helps yoiu.

Reporting Services Nightmare HELP ME !

Hi,

I installed Reporting Services and forgot to name the directories. So when the installation was complete I made the virtual directories myself. But now when I try to view them It says "You are not Authorized to see this page".

Whats the deal with that ?it's probably an issue with NTFS permissions but without a little more detail from you I'm not going to be able to be more specific than that

likely the ASPNET / IUSR account needs NTFS permisisons on a bunch of files. I can't tell you which ones.
