reporting services connection issue after install

I just installed Report services 2000 on a desktop now configured as the report manager and the database server is a remote SQL server that run on a domain user account ex: domainx\dbadmin . In the install note, I read that I should use this same domain user account for the connection to the remote DB server. That's what I did but the report server is unable to connect to the sql server or I receive permissions error but the user has full access to reportserver database & many other. I played many times with the rsconfig utility without success. Also tried with a simple SQL authenticated without success. I'm probably missing something stupid because I don't see much info on the users forums.

Can you confirm that the machine that hosts RS can connect to the machine that has the SQL DB?
