Configure Reporting Services Integration I get "A new member could not be
added to a local group because the member has the wrong account type".
I am on a domain controller.

Reporting Services Initialization
Hi
I am trying to configure reporting services. When I try to connect the portal through browser, it gives following error
"The report server installation is not initialized. (rsReportServerNotActivated) (rsRPCError)"..
Any idea, why this error? Also, in reporting services configuration manager, the initialization tab is greyed. I need this to get solved as soon as possible. Please let me know how can I get this thing done.

Reporting Services Error
Hi Everyone,
I setup and configure report server in SQL Server 2005. Getting error on:
An internal error occurred on the report server. See the error log for more details. (rsInternalError) Get Online Help Could not find stored procedure 'GetOneConfigurationInfo'.Anyone familiar with this error?
Thanks a lot.
TJ
Looks like the catalog database was not created corretly. I would recommend using the RS Config Tool to create the catalog database and bind your report server to it.|||did you find a solution TJ?|||Are you getting the error when you execute a report? If so. . .
Is there a Shared Dataset in the project.
Is the dataset pointing at the right database?
Is the stored procedure part of the database stored procedures?
Is the name of the stored procedure spelled correctly in the dataset.
Can you execute the stored procedure from SQL Server Management Studio.
Delete the dataset and recreate it and execute it from within VStudio.
|||I made a settings mistake because in setting up report server I set the server to a database i wanted to use instead of creating a database meant to house information for the reporting server itself.Saturday, February 25, 2012
Reporting Services Error
Services 2005. One of them is as follows. When I go into the Internet
Information Services screen, find the virtual directory which represents
Reporting Services (ReportServer$SQLServer2005), right-click and select
Browse, I get the following error:
The Report Server Windows service 'ReportServer$SQLSERVER2005' is not
running. The service must be running to use Report Server.
(rsReportServerServiceUnavailable)
However, if go to my Services screen, I don't see a
'ReportServer$SQLServer2005' service. I do see a 'SQL Server Reporting
Services (SQLServer2005) service. What service is this error message
referring to?
Thanks, Amos.Right click on "My Computer", select "Manage", "Computer Management" window
opens. Under "Services & Applications" u will find "SQL server configuration
manager", under this u will find "SQL Server 2005 Services". In that make
sure that "SQL server Reporting Services", "SQL server Browser" & "SQL
server agent" are running.

Reporting Services Configuration Tool
Hello all
I am trying to configure reporting services using the Configuration Tool. I get all checks green except for Encryption Keys (Blue), Initialization (Grey), and Email Settings and Execution Account (both Yellow). I am not too worried about the yellow and blue ones because I have read that other people have the same, but I was wondering how to make Initialization available to configure. I am running SQL Server 2005 - Standard Edition.
Thanks for the help,
S.R.
My initialization status is also a grey checkmark. Reporting services is running fine on this machine. As long as you can access http://localhost/reports, I wouldn't worry about it.|||I can't even access http://localhost/reports, I get this error:
Server Application Unavailable
The web application you are attempting to access on this web server is currently unavailable. Please hit the "Refresh" button in your web browser to retry your request.
Administrator Note: An error message detailing the cause of this specific request failure can be found in the application event log of the web server. Please review this log entry to discover what caused this error to occur.
Also, I am trying to install Microsoft CRM and it works along side Reporting Services, but it hasn't worked so we decided to reinstall both apps. I don't want to skip the Initialization step because this is probably one of the reasons why it hasn't worked; I am not sure, but I am trying to complete both installations as neatly as possible.
Thanks again,
S.R.
|||That's not good. Have you applied service pack 2?
In Reporting Services Configuration, on the database setup status screen, have you upgraded the database version?
Have you tried stopping and starting the report server?
|||No, I haven't applied SP2...should I?
When I click on upgrade, it just says Verifying Database Edition - The task completed successfully.
And...how do I restart the server? Is it in the Server Status page?
|||Yes you need to apply SP2. Yes, you restart the server on the server status page.|||Oh ok, then yeah, I have tried restarting the server.
Is it necessary to upgrade to SP2? I don't want to do it for now but I will eventually.
Anyway, how about that Initialization page in the Configuration Tool? Any suggestions? and the error, anyone knows how to fix that?
Thanks again,
S.R.
|||Under the SQL Server Surface Area Configuration tool, click Surface Area Configuration for Services and Connections. Make sure all of the services are running and under remote connections, verify that the server allows local and remote connections.|||Everything is running, and local and remote connections are allowed.
Any other ideas?
By the way, when I go in the Configuration Tool, in the Server Status page, it says that it has not been initialized. I just noticed that, thought it could be of importance.
Thanks
UPDATE:
So I ended up upgrading to SP2, and now in the Server Status page, it says Initialized: Yes.
I haven't figured out what is up with that error still, so I am stuck on this.
|||The only time I've seen that error is when two websites were being used in IIS on the same port.|||I don't know, I used the default website. How would I check that out?

|||Are there any other websites on that webserver? Look in IIS.|||Yes, there are other websites on it. They are: Default, companyweb, Sharepoint Admin, Sharepoint Central Admin, and Microsoft CRM. I am assuming that your report server was installed under the default website. In order to confirm, please verify that 'Reports' and 'ReportServer' are under the default website.
If so then try to access your report manager using this link:
http://localhost:80/reports
If this does not work and you do not think that changing the port on companyweb will impact any websites for your company, try changing the port for companyweb to a different unused port. Then use the link I gave above. Either that or change the port for the SQL Reports to something other than 80.
It appears to me that one of the websites on that server is conflicting with the SQL Reports. It is my advice that you attempt to get rid of the conflict in the least troublesome fashion.
|||You assumed correctly, and after I tried the link you gave me, still nothing. I changed the port number for companyweb and, again, nothing happened.

I found this one. I still have the red x by web service identity, but
the report server starts now.

Reporting Services Configuration (Database Connection)
Hi,
I want to configure my Reporting Service.
And if I want to configure the Database Connection I the action
"Create a Grants Rights Script" fails.
I tried all credential types by it doesn't work.
Does anybody have an idea? Thanks for your help!

Hi, I have installed SQL Server 2005 EVAL edition in my machine.
I am not able to configure the Database Setup Page in the Reporting Services Configuration. When i am doing configuration it is displaying the following error.
If I selecct Credentials type as Windows or SQL Server
the error is "Using other editions of SQL Server for report data sources and/or the report server database is not suported in this edition of Reporting Services."
if i select Credentials type as Service Credentials
the error is "A virtual directory must first be created before performing this operation."
Thanking you.
When using the tool, work top down on the left hand pane.
For the first error, it is telling you that the SKU of SQL Server you are using does not allow what you are trying to do. An example of this would be trying to use an Express SKU of RS with the database on a Standard edition of SQL server. Additionally, Express SKU does not allow data sources or databases outside of itself.
I have not seen this error with the Evaluation edition trying to configure on Evaluation edition. If this is the case, please let me know. bradsy(at)microsoft.com
