Reporting Services Service Pack 2
Ok,
How do I get what Service Pack if any is installed for Reporting Services?
Version?
SQL query?
I see there is a Service Pack 2 for Reporting Services. Should everything be
fine with my reports after I
install this or is this going to be a mess? Break everything?
thanks
gvThere is no service pack 2 for RS 2005. RS 2000 does have it and is good, I
ran in production with that for quite awhile. For RS 2005 if you install SP1
then you also need to get a hotfix because SP1 broke using All for
multi-select parameters. SP2 is out as a pre-release. I have not installed
it however.

Reporting Services initial page load takes to long.
I have looked all over to get an answer to the following:
I have installed Reporting Services with the latest service pack. When
I or any of my customers try to initially load the default page
(http://localhost/reports/Pages/Folder.aspx) it will take 20-30
seconds. After the initial load it is fine. The next day when we try
to access it again, it takes 20-30 seconds again. I have seen two
people ask the same question on the newsgroups with no answers.
Some may feel this is not a big deal, but I am moving from one
reporting service to "Reporting Services" and the less issues my
customers have the easier it will be for me to sell this. If I could
get this corrected it would be great, but if I can not, I would at
least like a logical reason why this occurs.
Also
Is there an equivalent function in RS to Crystal's "Next" command
I am converting a report from Crystal to Reporting Services and I need
the ability to look ahead by one row (the Next command in Crystal) and
use this data from the result set to perform certain calculation. If
there is not a similar command is there a way to do this short of
creating a temp table and using a cursor?
Thanks,
TomThe initial delay occurs when ASP.Net first compiles all of the assemblies.
This occurs during the first access only. After a period of time of
inactivity the ASP.Net worker process is unloaded and the whole thing must
start over again.
For you second question I would start a new thread with a subject which
reflects the question, otherwise it might not get answered.

Reporting Services CRM Feature Pack
I am trying to install the Reporting Services CRM Feature Pack on a SBS 2003.
I have installed Reporting Services and SP1 for it. Everything installed
just fine when I installed Reporting Services. I went to install the Feature
Pack for CRM (also installed on the same server) and at the very end of the
installation, I get the following error:
"Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
That is it and then it backs itself out of the installation. Any ideas? I
have not been successful researching the error as it is highly generic.
ThanksI posted a reply on www.MSCRMExperts.com.
Do you have SQL Reporting Services Service Pack 1 installed?

I do not think it will even let you begin to install if it detects that SP1
for RS is not there. I am seeing this same issue pop up quite a bit with
others having the same problem. No resolution on any of them though.

I've verified that the ReportServer is running, however, I can't get the CRM
Report pack to install.|||Here is what we have found out. The environment we have is in Development
but mimics the production environment. So putting VS.NET on it (being SBS
2003 and mimicing the production environment) is not an option for this
circumstance (and is an optional install in the first place). Even though we
have unsuccessfully been able to install the CRM Report Pack, if you can
install it to another server NOT running the CRM, this seems to work. Then,
just publish your rdl from Reporting Services to the actual CRM Server
running Reporting Services. This assumes that you are running CRM and
Reporting Services on the same box.
